JM jumperskirt and camera troubles!

Recently I've added to my Jane Marple collection (no doubt destined to expand further when I go to Tokyo in January!) with this plum-coloured jumperskirt.

While it's an uncomplicated design, the key is in the details! The edge of the bodice is scalloped, as is the hem, with two rows of pretty trim in a lighter shade of plum decorating the hem. I think I'll wear this jsk a lot!

I coordinated with a tie for a prim but girlish look. I used to wear ties a lot, in my more dandy-ish days! Since I have a nice collection, I want to start incorporating neck ties into my Lolita style. I know a few different knot styles, so please look out for those in future coordinates!

I'm sorry about the webcam pictures- not only is my camera broken, but now my parents' camera has given up too! Hopefully I can sort that out at the weekend.

Singapore Highlights (part two)

Hello hello!

Today I've got some more pictures from my trip to Singapore last month.

One of the best moments of my holiday was meeting the famous terracotta warriors, who were on loan to the Asian Civilisations Museum.

Amazing to think of how old they are! The rest of the museum was very interesting too, and this stylish lady caught my eye:

Singapore is well-known for it's combination of high-rise modern buildings and lush greenery, and to my eyes it is certainly very pretty.

While I was there though, I went to see a different side of Singapore- farms and a nature reserve! 

This is Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. It's certainly a big change from the city! It's wonderful to have so much variety of scenery in such a small country.

Across the water, we can see a glimpse of Malaysia! I also saw all sorts of wildlife- monitor lizards swimming happily in the water, mudskippers looking very odd, and a cute squirrel, the only one I've ever seen in Singapore.

And here's a sweet little goat from the farm I visited. Look at her bald knees!

Winter is coming!

Hello lovely readers!

The weather has been nice this weeked, bright and a little crisp. I can feel that winter is coming! I always get excited about the changing of the seasons. I went shopping with my mother yesterday, and wore a simple autumnal outfit with my favourite skirt.

Soon I want to show you a nice coordinate with the Jane Marple JSK I got recently! It's in plum-coloured wool, very nice for the colder months. I'm going to try some different colour combinations with it, since I haven't worn that particular hue before.

Versailles!

Hello! 

I'm taking an interval from posting about Singapore to write about the Versailles live last week.

My camera is out of action at the moment, so unfortunately I couldn't get a coord snap. I wore my Metamorphose Antique Bouquet onepiece with an Innocent World necklace.

I really enjoyed the live! Hello to the lovely girl I met there, was it Sarah? My ears were ringing a bit still, so I'm not sure if I heard your name correctly. Please excuse my deafness, I was glad to meet you! I'm sad to have missed Emilie and Cordelia though :( I was looking out for you two!

Well well, so now I've seen Kamijo. And I've been smiling a lot since then! 

I thouroughly enjoyed myself. Although the band seemed a little tired, and could perhaps have been a bit  livelier, their appearance and performance was certainly gorgeous. Versailles' "twirls" were one of the highlights for me. Everyone's costume was engineered for maximum twirlability, whether it was a cape, a big skirt, long coat tails, or, in the case of Teru, a fabulous net curtain(!)

 Kamijo's movements were so.... Kamijo-y! Flamboyant and graceful, perfect. So much that it's bit hard to believe he's flesh and blood! Hizaki also conducted himself very elegantly and daintily, even when leaping bodily into the crowd- that part scared me a bit! He looks so softly pretty in real life, more convincingly feminine than I expected.

Yuki looked very handsome and his drumming was cool, but both he and Masashi seemed to me a bit subdued. However, Teru was certainly entertaining in his glittering lace cape; he probably had the most energy, and his very very wide smile was infectious. My friend and I admired his gilt-trimmed pumpkin pants- they had just the right amount of pouf! 

Sadly both my friends and I couldn't go to the meet and greet afterwards, we wouldn't have been able to get home otherwise. I do wish they had started earlier, they didn't play for that long and it would have been so nice to meet them! Did any readers get to go to the meet and greet? Please tell me your experiences!
